Wayne Allen Noel passed away at home on the evening of Jan. 9, 2024, with his wife Connie and his beloved dog Sadie by his side. He had endured a 17-year battle with cancer and three-year battle with kidney disease. He never let anyone know how much he suffered.
Wayne was born to Clarence Walter Noel and Esther Isabel O’Bryan Noel on May 26, 1947, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. The family moved to Phoenix in 1948. Wayne was the older brother to Dennis, Terry and Susan.
Wayne was the proud father to son Klint. He loved to fish with Klint at Canyon Lake and Ashurst and later on the Colorado River at Lees Ferry. Their favorite father-and-son time was going for long hikes looking for arrowheads and other artifacts.
Wayne is survived by Connie, Klint, Terry (Sylvia), Susan and Connie’s son Patrick (Victoria) and their three boys who called Wayne Pepe, and his favorite niece Melissa.
Wayne graduated from Central High School and attended Arizona State University.
Wayne developed a passion for skydiving and recorded over 3,200 jumps. He maintained his D license and was an international judge and also worked with the U.S. Army Parachute Team.
He worked various jobs in the area and then worked construction that had him traveling around Arizona and to Nevada, Colorado, Utah, New Mexico and lastly Wisconsin. When he quit traveling, he moved to Page in 2001 and married Connie.
While working in Page in 1996, he was invited to join the Page Elks Lodge, where he was an active member and officer at the local and state level. Wayne was honored with Honorary Lifetime Membership in March 2023.
Wayne was a good and kind man, a dedicated Elk and will be missed by so many. “I love you more than you know.”
Services and Celebration of Life will be held at the Page Elks Lodge on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2024, at 3 p.m.
