The Arizona Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (AIAAA) has named Page Unified School District’s athletic director, Megan Moore, as its 3A Conference Athletic Director of the Year. The announcement was made last week. Moore was also named the 3A North Athletic Director of the Year this year.

This is a back-to-back distinction for Moore, who was named the Small Schools (1A-3A) Conference and 3A North Rookie Athletic Director of the Year last year.

Moore said she is able to do what she does because she has a large network of assistance and supporters she can rely on.

“I am able to do so much because of the people surrounding me,” Moore said. “I work with amazing coaches who want to win and two assistants – Shalonna Lee and Stephanie Hawker – who handle everything in the office, which lets me do more.”

Moore says she also receives a lot of guidance and support from outside PUSD.

“I feel very lucky to work with the 3A North athletic directors,” she said.  “We encourage each other and elevate each other. It’s an amazing group to be part of.”

PUSD Superintendent Dr. Bryce Anderson said the school district is elevated by what Moore brings to the table.

“Megan’s got such a passion for the Sand Devil Way,” said Anderson. “Doing what is best for students, coaches and families. She devotes countless hours ensuring the needs of every participant are met. She truly goes above and beyond to make that our Sand Devils have every opportunity to compete and be successful, as our programs have shown.”

Moore was born and raised in Page and graduated from Page High School. Prior to becoming PUSD’s athletic director at the beginning of the 2022-23 school year, Moore has been a teacher at Page High School since 2016. During that time, she has also served as student council advisor for six years and this year served as senior class sponsor.

Moore was awarded the title for the leadership, improvements and achievements she brought to the athletic programs under her guidance. During the two years Moore has served as PUSD’s A.D., the middle school’s and high school’s athletic programs have shined.
