Tyree Stingley, a junior at Page High School, was named the 3A North Boys’ Basketball Player of the Year. The 3A North Player of the Year is voted on by all the boys basketball coaches in 3A North.
Stingley, who plays guard post for the Sand Devils, had a standout season. He was the team’s leading scorer and in January he scored his 1,000th career point, a feat very few basketball players achieve. It was made all the more remarkable that he reached that milestone halfway through his junior year.
Stingley is known for his work ethic, coachability and overall athleticism. Stingley was also the 3A North Player of the Year for football this year and was 2nd Team All-State in football.
Page Unified School District Athletic Director Megan Moore presented Stingley with the award during a recent girls’ basketball game.
