A two-vehicle accident near the Horseshoe Bend intersection resulted in three victims being hospitalized late Tuesday morning.
According to the Page Police Department, a black sedan containing two out-of-state passengers was attempting to pull out from the Horseshoe Bend parking lot when it struck an oncoming vehicle headed southbound on Highway 89.
That vehicle, a silver colored sedan, was driven by a Page local. Investigators believe another vehicle using the turn lane to turn into Horseshoe Bend partially blocked the view of the black sedan when it merged onto the highway.
No names or ages of the victims had been released by the time this issue of the Chronicle went to press. Police said the driver of the black sedan sustained only minor injuries, while the passenger suffered a broken foot and lacerations, but none of the injuries were life threatening. Both were treated at the Page Hospital. The driver of the silver vehicle was airlifted to Flagstaff where she was treated for internal bleeding. As of Tuesday afternoon, investigators reported she was in stable condition.
