Posted

The Page Middle School and High School choirs joined the Navajo Language and Culture classes 3 and 4 in presenting Christmas and Winter Songs last Thursday.

Mikayla Forbes and Carlos Begay directed the programs at the CAB auditorium. Dawnell Robertson accompanied the singers on a grand piano.

The program started with the Page High School Navajo singers presenting the traditional star songs, shoe game songs and prayer songs. The Navajo words were projected on a screen while the students sang in traditional clothing.

The Page High School Chorale sang “The Twelve Days of Christmas,” “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel” and “Deck the Halls.”

Page Middle School Intro to Choir 6 sang “O Tannenbaum,” “Frosty the Snow Man” and “Go Tell it on the Mountain.”

Page High School Honors Concert Choir sang “Minuit Chretiens,” “A La Nanita Nana” and “Christmas … In Almost Three Minutes.”

Page Middle School Choir sang “Silent Night,” “Jingle Bell Rock” and “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year.”

Page Middle and High School Combined Choirs closed the program with “Sleigh Ride.”

The event was well attended by family members, parents, friends and members of the community who all wanted to hear holiday music.
