The skate park is very popular with Page’s skaters, bikers and rollerbladers and it has been for years.
But after years of enjoyment the ramps, rails, and concrete are showing the wear.
But the skaters, bikers and boarders will soon be enjoying a new skate park.
“The plan for the preliminary design for the skate park is to take advantage of the slope in John C Park,” said Kim Johnson, Community Development Director for the city of Page.
Johnson says the city has had the development of a new skate park on the back burner for about a year and a half. As the plans move forward the city is seeking additional ideas for the park from Page residents.
The city is holding an open house at City Hall on March 8 from 6-8PM, and all Page residents are invited to have their ideas heard. The goal of the open house is to receive input for design of the future skate park.
“It’s the community’s skate park,” said Johnson, “we want to know what they want whether it be an all wheel park or exclusive to boarding.”
Boarders and non-boarders alike are welcome and strongly encouraged to be a part of the discussion for plans of the future of the John C. Page Skate Park.
