PAGE – One lane and one sidewalk on the Carl Hayden Bridge will be closed during the night to vehicular and pedestrian traffic beginning Monday, May 6, ending Friday, May 10.
The traffic lane and sidewalk on the downstream side of the bridge will be closed to access. The nighttime closure will last 12 hours, from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. Drivers are advised to plan for 10-minute traffic delays. During peak travel times (between 5-8 p.m.) delays may be longer.
According to Mary Plumb, spokesperson for the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, the closure is “due to routine pipeline inspection and maintenance on the sewer line that crosses the bridge, connecting the Wahweap District of the park to the Page wastewater treatment plant.”
When the five-day project is completed, the Wahweap Fish Cleaning Station will also be reopened.
