More than 5,000 citizens of Page turned out to vote in the primary elections yesterday. The Coconino County Recorder’s Office is still counting provisional ballots and early voting ballots. Coconino County Recorder Patty Hansen said no winners will be declared until all the ballots have been counted and that isn’t likely to be until early next week.
As it stands so far, current mayor Bill Diak leads the mayoral race with 36 percent of the vote, followed by Levi Tappan with 29.7 percent of the votes and Brian Carey with 24.9 percent.
In the race for the four-year term council member four-year Rick Yanke leads with 28.5 percent of the votes, followed by Mark Cormier with 26.4 percent and Theresa Bowlby with 26.2 percent.
In the race for the two-year term council member Dennis Warner leads with 36.6 percent of the votes, followed by Kristin Davis with 34.6 percent. Jeff Szabo trails with 28 percent of the vote.
