On Aug. 29, Page Fire Department’s B shift was dispatched to an incident in which 29-year-old Page resident Apollo Cruttenden was struck by a car while riding his bicycle near Lake Powell Boulevard and Elm Street. Engineer Matt McDowell said even though Cruttenden received road-rash injuries to his elbows and back, he was more distraught over the damage to his bicycle. The B shift, as well as Page F.D. Chief Jeff Reed, pooled their money together and purchased Cruttenden a new bicycle that was presented to him at the fire station Aug. 30.  Pictured are, from left,  Chief Jeff Reed, Engineer Matt McDowell, Captain Mike Hoodenpyle and Apollo Cruttenden. B shift members not pictured are Andrew Keisling, Mark Rochwick, Robert Deleon and Candise Miller
