Anastasia Christiansen is a bright young woman with a bright future.
Christiansen, a friendly, charismatic, active senior at Page High School, can be found on the varsity soccer field where she plays striker/forward, the softball field where she plays outfield, and on the side of the basketball court as a cheerleader. During her high school sports career, she was 2nd Team All-Region her junior and senior years for soccer. She received an Honorable Mention in softball her sophomore year, and 2nd Team All-region her junior year.
Off the field, Christiansen plays the piano and the cello. She performs as 2nd chair cello for the high school’s strings and orchestra concerts. She started playing the cello in 7th grade, and she began playing the piano when she was five years old.
One of her favorite hobbies is reading, an activity she returned to during the pandemic.
“Since the pandemic I have gotten into reading and it has become my passion,” she said.
Christiansen also stands out academically. She has been on the Honor Roll all throughout high school, with an impressive 3.92 GPA. She was a member of PHS student council her sophomore and junior years.
“I am really proud of my high GPA of 3.92,” she said. “I wanted to join student council to make a difference in the school. I wanted to raise the school spirit to what it once was before COVID-19. I also wanted to make the school a more kind, caring and safe place to be.”
After graduation, Christiansen plans to attend college. She is still weighing her options. Southern Utah University and Northern Arizona University are high on her list, as well as several colleges which have invited her to join their soccer teams.
“I am also really proud of several colleges all around the nation that want me to play for them, including a school in England,” she said.
Christiansen has several fond memories from her high school days that she’ll look back on often after she graduates.
“All the bus rides to and from soccer games,” she said. “My coach Mr. Dalton made those trips very memorable. We would blast music and sing along. It would be very difficult if you were trying to sleep on the bus rides back. Another really fun memory was my junior year prom where I was in a group with three of my really close friends and we danced and had a great time.”
Anastasia is the daughter of Kyle and Glenna Christiansen.
