Parents treated to school cafeteria food

Parents skeptical about school meals had a chance to try it themselves at the Page Unified School District special tasting event.

Are the meals healthy? And if they're healthy, will children really want to eat them? On Sept. 17, parents had the opportunity to find out. The school’s food service provider, Chartwells K12, was onsite for a tasting event to show parents what their children will be eating this year for breakfast and lunch. They were treated to samplers of Dragon Fruit Banana Smoothies, Berry Parfaits, Buffalo Chicken Pizza, Vegetable Supreme Pizza, Chicken Fajita Wrap, Cobb Salad and Pulled Pork Cheese Nachos.

Parents also learned about the availability of school lunches for their children and the financial savings available to them as all students eat for free in the district.
