Judith Mary Akins Riordan

January 6, 1937 – February 23, 2025

With deep love and gratitude, we celebrate the life of Judith Mary Akins Riordan, a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and woman of unwavering faith.

Judy was born on January 6, 1937 in Willits, California, to Tom Akins and Nanette Grant. Judy dedicated nearly 55 years to nursing. She was passionate about helping women and babies. She never backed down from a challenge and was known for her strength, wisdom, and unwavering compassion.

Her greatest joy was her family. She raised five children with love and resilience. She taught them to never give up when life got hard, to put others before themselves, and to live with faith and integrity. She was a hands-on grandmother, always present for her grandkids’ big moments.

Judy’s final days were a testament to her strength and faith. She spent her last moments showering her family with love, smiles, and as many “I love you’s” as she could. She left this world with grace, dignity, and no hesitation about where she was going.

Judy is survived by her children: Mary (Cris) McSparen, Mike Riordan, Daniel (Darlene) Riordan, and Eileen Riordan. She was the proud grandmother of Shannon McSparen (children: Cris, Izabella, Mackenzie, Savannah), Peter (Rebecca) Riordan (children: Neyland, Wyatt, Vada), Lacey (Keith) James (children: Dominic, Judith), Ian Riordan, Erin (Daniel) Gonzalez, Lisa (Rafael) Leyva (children: Jason, Blake, Dustin), Michael Moore (children: Braelynn, Collin), Paul Riordan (child: Matthew), Megan Moore, Raven Riordan, and Jason Moore. She is reunited in heaven with husband, Bill, son, Kevin, grandson, Paul, and son-in-law, Cris McSparen.

A funeral Mass will be held at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in her honor.
