The Grand Circle Art Alliance (GCAA) “Enchanted Evening” event was held at the Lake Powell National Golf Course Friday night [October 11]. This year’s theme was “Under the Sea.” The formal dinner event featured live music by Oscar Leon, accompanied by Mike Collins. Author/poet Steven Wesley Law read a new poem for guests, and guests had the opportunity to have their portraits taken by GCAA President and professional photographer Wagner Kelly.
The fundraiser and silent auction help support the non-profit alliance and make it possible for the group to award student scholarships.
GCAA treasurer Cassidy Finn said attendance was 73% higher than last year’s event and she expects next year will be even better.
“It was a good night,” said Finn. “We raised just a little over $800 to go towards the scholarship, and then an attendee from last night stopped by the Gallery today and donated $100 earmarked for the scholarship fund. So I guess you could say we raised $900.”
