Over $22,000 in grants were awarded to local nonprofits in the 2024-2025 grant cycle, $3,000 more than the previous year.
“The Arizona Community Foundation and our Page Lake Powell Community Fund are built to serve community needs,” said Kay Leum. “The sole purpose of the projects is to make Page better and provide support for our community. The grant process is a competitive process. We reviewed 13 applications requesting a total of $64,900. All of our recipients submitted quality applications for well-thought-out projects that made great use of our annual available funds.”
ACF was founded in 1978, 45 years ago, and is now one of the top 25 largest community foundations in the U.S., distributing over $1 billion in grants, scholarships and community distributions.
The Page Lake Powell Fund of the ACF was founded in 1997 and has awarded 151 grants totaling $403,768 to the community.
“I would also like to recognize and publicly thank The Burton Family Foundation,” said Leum. “The Foundation works closely with ACF and awarded matching grant dollars in addition to those awarded by The PLP Community Fund to two designated agencies.
“In addition to the Community Fund Grants, the Page Lake Powell Fund manages four other funding sources, utilizing both local dollars and endowments.”
ACF Page Lake Powell Community Fund Committee and Grant Reviewers are Kim Larson, Traci Parker, Edward Franklin, Amanda Boston, Shania Valentine, Joe Wright and Kay Leum.
The 2024 Grand Recipients are Arizona Adaptive Sports Lake Powell Watersports Program, CCASD - Tse’Yaato’ High School Eggtastic, Glen Canyon Conservancy Powell Museum & Archives Outdoor Signage, Glen Canyon Outdoor Academy Building Student Engagement Through Stewardship, Page Animal Adoption Agency Page Animal Shelter Spay/Neuter Support Project, and Victim Witness Services for Coconino County Victim Witness Services - Page/Lake Powell Office.
