Tom Nimrod, Sr., age 86, passed away June 3, 2018 in the presence of his family. He was born October 1, 1932 near Paiute Mesa in Tall Mountain, Ariz. to parents Ella and Jack Nimrod. Tom was raised in Tall Mountain, Ariz. and later attended school at Steward Indian School near Carson City, Nev.
 He married Sally Mae Whitney on July 28, 1951 in Reno, Nev. Together Tom and Sally had eight children He worked as a construction worker and helped build the Dunes Casino, The Flamingo, and Sahara Casino in Las Vegas, Nev. He also spent 36 years working as a cook and eventually retired as a civil service employee in June of 1990.
During retirement, Tom devoted his time to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He resided in Page, Ariz. for a short time and eventually relocated permanently to Kaibeto, Ariz. Tom enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren in Lake Powell and playing card games at home. He is survived by his brother Harry Nimrod (Tall Mountain, Ariz.) children; Sharon Nimrod (Tuba City, Ariz.), Gloria Navaho (Tuba City, Ariz., Ross Nimrod (Page, Ariz.), Tom Nimrod, Jr.(Tuba City, Ariz.), Everett Nimrod (Kaibeto, Ariz.), Cheryl Palmer (Fruitland, NM), and Lucinda Emerick (Fruitland, NM). He is preceded in death by his wife Sally Whitney, his son Darrell Nimrod and his brother Oscar Nimrod.
Memorial Services will be Friday, June 8, 2018 in Tuba City, Arizona, 10:00a.m. (DST) Burial will be at Tuba City Cemetery.
