PAGE – Mayor Levi Tappan gave his second State of the City address Friday afternoon. The event was held at Courtyard by Marriott.
The mayor’s address included videos and slideshows highlighting the city’s progress in 2019. Tappan emphasized the urgent need of housing in Page, and its relationship to recruiting and keeping good teachers. He told the packed house the reason his family stayed in Page was because of good teachers for their children.
Tappan also talked about the effect of Navajo Generating Station closing. Besides the financial impact, NGS employees played a critical role as volunteers in local organizations. He stressed the need for others to get involved and contribute to their community.
In general, Tappan’s presentation was well received and inspired frequent applause.
