Levi Tappan is well on his way to becoming Page’s new Mayor.

The latest results show that Tappan, who has served as a city councilman since 2013, has received 932 votes to Bill Diak’s 797 votes giving him 54 percent of the votes counted so far. The final count isn’t expected to be completed until Thursday or Friday.

If the final election results bear out the current trend Tappan will hold the distinction of being Page’s first Page-born mayor.

In related news, Justice Court Judge Donald Roberts holds a commanding lead over Michael Barnes. Roberts has 66.3 percent of the vote, to Barnes 33.7 percent.
