St. George, Utah – Sue Ellen Barney, 57, returned to our Father in Heaven on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, after a long battle with cancer.
Sue was born May 16, 1959, in Springfield, Illinois and spent her childhood in the Catham Springfield area.
She married Tim Barney in 1983.
She received a bachelor’s degree in education from Dixie State College and worked for the Washington County School District.
Sue is survived by her husband, Tim; children, Tisha, Trent (Shaylei), Trever and Shaylee; grandchildren, Evangeline and Katherine Wilson; father, Richard Emery; siblings, Mike (Jolene), Steve, James (Valerie), Mark (Tina) Emery; and many other relatives and friends.
She was proceeded in death by her mother, Norma Kvitkauskas; and stepfather, Walt Kvitkauskas.
Funeral services were held at noon, Monday, April 17, 2017, at the Bloomington LDS Stake Center, 200 West Brigham Road, St. George, Utah.
Visitations were held Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 West St. George Blvd. and on Monday at 10 a.m. at the Stake Center.
Interment took place at noon Tuesday, April 18, 2017, in the Escalante Cemetery, Escalante, Utah. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Metcalf Mortuary, 435-673-4221.
