The Sand Devils baseball team travels to Snowflake today where they’ll play in the conference play-in tournament. Teams seeded nine through 24 compete in the play-in tournament and the eight teams that win will advance to the state championship tournament. Teams seeded one through eight receive a first-round bye.
The Sand Devils softball team is in the same situation. They’re also playing in a conference play-in tournament today. They host the Window Rock Fighting Scouts at 4 p.m. They played Window Rock twice during the regular season and went 1-1.
Kiaya Park, the No. 1 player for the Lady Sand Devils tennis team, has advanced to the first round of the girls singles Div. III state championships, which begin Friday at the Paseo Racquet Center in Glendale. Park had a first round bye in regional play last Friday and defeated her opponents on Friday and Saturday.
