Richard Lee Barton

On Saturday, April 21, 2018, Richard Lee Barton, 87,  a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather went to meet his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.


He was born July 13, 1930 in Cincinnati, Ohio to George and Inez (Hansen) Barton.  


He served in the U.S. Army for three years.  He owned and ran a small farm in Indiana, while working for a small appliance company before moving to Page to help with construction of the Glen Canyon Dam in 1961.  


While in Page, he worked several jobs including the National Park Service and the City of Page, before beginning his work for the Bureau of Reclamation, where he retired as the Maintenance Foreman in 1993 after 34 years.  During some of that time, he served as a volunteer fireman and as a reserve ranger.  
He also served as a deacon at his Baptist church for many years.


Richard is proceeded in death by his parents George and Inez (Hansen) Barton and brother, Donald Green.  He is survived by his wife Jewell of 61 years, and his three children, Timothy (Lynelle) Barton of Glendale, Ariz., Cheryl (Bill) Howard of Murphys, Calif., and Charles (Suzann) Barton of Corona, Calif.; seven grandchild, Paul Barton, Jena' Hodges, Brittany Hayes, Ashley Barton, Benjamin Howard, Jonathan Howard and Jennifer Howard; and three great-grandchildren, Aurora Hayes, Tahlia Hayes and Logan Hodges; and one brother, Everett (Thelma) Miller.
