Kelsey Knight dominated the jumping events and Christy Robinson earned a double win in hurdles to lead the Page girls track team to a second-place finish in the Page Merchants Meet on Saturday.
On the boys’ side, Jacob Doyle swept the hurdles to lead the Sand Devils to a close third-place finish.
Ganado won the girls meet with 144 points with the Sand Devils second at 129. Monument Valley was third with 104 points, Coconino was fourth with 67 and Tuba City fifth with 64. Seven teams competed in the meet.
Knight led the Sand Devils with wins in the long jump, triple jump and high jump. Knight took the long jump with a leap of 15-5, the triple jump at 31-6 and the high jump at 5-1.
Robinson was just as dominant, taking the 100-meter hurdles in 17.32 seconds and the 300 hurdles in 52.31
The Sand Devils also picked up a win in the 800 as Sofia Bryan came out on top in 2:32.44 and the 4x400 meter relay team won in 4:26.95.
Second-place finishers for the Lady Sand Devils included Rachel Drella in the 100-meter dash (13.97 seconds), Victoria Tenpenny in the 1,600-meter run (5:38.23) and the 4x800 relay team (11:13.62).
In the boys meet, Doyle won the 110-meter high hurdles in 15.85 seconds and the 300-meter intermediate hurdles in 44.58 seconds to pace the Sand Devils.
Cullen Nockideneh won the 400 in 54.95 seconds, the 4x400 meter relay team won in 3:51.05 and Kele Meredith won the shot put with a throw of 41-0.
Second-place finishers for the Sand Devils included Meredith in the 100 in 12.02 seconds and the 200 in 24.83 seconds, Peter Corbell in the 400 in 57.18 and the 4x800 relay team in 9:10.18.
The Page track teams will compete in the Valley Classic on Saturday at Alhambra High School.
