The Page boys soccer team returns to Page this week after a grueling couple days at the Old Pueblo Classic tournament in Tucson.
The team made the seven-hour drive to Tucson Friday morning, played two games, slept that night, played two games the next day and made the long drive back home Saturday night.
Their travel squad was severely short-handed. Two players were out with concussions sustained earlier in the week, two were out for eligibility reasons, two more had other commitments and others were attending college tryouts.
“Despite the long drive we still played with a lot of energy and we stayed focused throughout,” said soccer head coach Ryan Palizzi. “I’m seeing some good improvements. We continue to improve moving the ball better and we’re getting higher quality shots on goal than we did at the beginning of the season.”
They play AshFork/Seligman this Saturday at 2 p.m.
