John J. Ahlstrand, 58, husband of Missy (Melanie, nee Draper) Ahlstrand and long time resident of Page, passed away suddenly at his residence in Globe on Feb. 14, 2017.
Son of Norman and Charlotte Ahlstrand, he was born in March of 1958 in Anchorage, Alaska. His parents preceded him in death, as did two brothers, Terrence, Monterey Calif., and Gary of Tacoma, Wash.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two stepchildren in Ohio, and siblings, Mike, Tacoma, Wash., James, Clear Lake, Calif., Charlotte (Martin), Orange, Calif., Cindi (Ringenberg), Tacoma, Wash., and Angela (Yokam), St. Clair, MI; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as animal friends, Happyjack and Lillie.
John was an artistically inclined nature lover. A musician, painter, and poet, he proudly served as Emergency Army Combat Medic, stationed at 97th General Hospital, Frankfurt Germany from 1975-1978.  He earned a degree in geological sciences and served as a volunteer firefighter and EMT for various fire departments in the Western United States. While in Page, he was employed by Aramark and Antelope Point Marina.
John was a free-spirited, intelligent and generous soul who is greatly missed by his friends and family.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at Lone Rock Beach on Lake Powell in May.
