Glen Canyon Outdoor Academy is pleased to present its new school leader, Raini Goatson. Goatson is currently a first and second grade teacher at GCOA and will begin her new role in the 2023-2024 school year. Goatson is rooted in the community and is an experienced educator. She also holds her master's in education and is pursuing her Ph.D.
Goatson is replacing current school leader Jim Walker, who is retiring after graciously supporting GCOA in getting up and running as a new, free, public charter school with a focus on outdoor learning. Walker is an experienced administrator, and his knowledge and expertise have been invaluable for GCOA’s inauguration.
GCOA is continuing to accept registration for the current school year for first and second grade. Pre-enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year (for kindergarten through seventh grade) is now open, with official enrollment beginning on Feb. 1. GCOA is also hiring teachers and paraprofessionals for the 2023-2024 school year.
For more information, please visit www.gcoacademy.org or call 928-813-8422. GCOA is now at the new, permanent location of 835 Newburn Rd. in Page, Arizona.
