It will come as no surprise to anyone living in Page that the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area has become a very popular place. More than 4.6 million visitors came to the Lake Powell area in 2017.

For the first time ever, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area visitation topped that of Zion National Park which saw 4.5 million visitors in 2017.

Glen Canyon National Recreation Area’s visitation has doubled since 2013. Glen Canyon’s visitors spent $361 million during their stay on such things as lodging, meals, souvenirs and fuel.

Glen Canyon National Recreation Area had the ninth highest economic of the U.S.’s 417 park units.

Glen Canyon National Recreation Area and its surrounding communities supports more than 5,000 jobs.
