Floyd, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, is survived by his devoted wife of 53 years, Patti Elmore, daughter Shannon Blackwell (Audie), son Michael Elmore (Aleta), grandchildren Kyrsten Kreitler (Dennis), Makenzie Blackwell, Daniel Blackwell, Makayla Land and Josiah Land, and great-grandchildren Ciara Kreitler and Jesse Kreitler. He is also survived by four of his five siblings, many cousins, nieces, nephews and many great friends.

Floyd was born in Beaver, Oklahoma, on March 11, 1944, to Alda Ray Elmore and Sarah Jane nee Martin Elmore. He was the oldest of six children, and the family moved from Oklahoma to Nebraska in 1949, then to Baldwin Park, California, in 1950. After graduating high school and Mt. Sac Junior College, Floyd was drafted and served in the Army, serving overseas from June 28, 1965, to June 13, 1967. After being honorably discharged, he reconnected with the woman who would be the love of his life, Patricia Ann Corum. They were engaged in September of 1967 and married February 22, 1968. They lived in La Puente, then Chino, California, before moving to Big Water, Utah, in 1980, then moving into Page in 1988.

Floyd worked at Wahweap for Del Webb from 1981 to 1985, before going to work for the different Page gas companies, and worked for them for 28 years, until retiring in 2011. Floyd was proud to have been an integral part of helping the Page Sports Complex be built, played softball, burffel ball, and was an umpire for many years. He was also a bowler in the 1970s and 1980s and loved to play golf. Many old friends would see Floyd working at the Nazarene Church daily. He was the maintenance and handyman for many years; when he retired from the gas company, he worked at the church as their maintenance handyman and groundskeeper, a position he loved and held until his passing.

Floyd will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by everyone he knew.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at First Baptist Church, 213 S. Lake Powell Blvd., Page, at 11 a.m. If anyone is unable to attend but would like to share touching or fond memories of Floyd, the family asks that you please send them to Shannon at sblackwell2122@gmail.com. The family will be putting an album of all memories of Floyd together, and we’d love to hear from everyone!
