Page Police Lt. Tim Lange, Bill Justice, Exalted Ruler Marie Justice, and Sandi Klain outside the Elks Lodge. Last week, the Page Elks Lodge presented the Page Police Department with $1,000 for them to use for their Shop with a Cop program.
Shop with a Cop is an annual Christmas tradition when local police officers take area kids Christmas shopping.
This year marks the 150th anniversary of the Elks’s organization and as part of that celebration the Grand Lodge is giving each of its lodges $1,000 to spend on community charities.
“We could have chosen any organization and we chose Shop with a Cop,” said Bill Justice, former exalted ruler for the Page Elks Lodge. “The kids who are involved get so much out of it.”
“As a lodge, we’re really proud to be able to help the community,” said Marie Justice, exalted ruler for the Page Elks Lodge. “It’s a really good thing that the Page Police are doing and we’re glad to help.”
“This means a lot to the community,” said Lt. Lange. “There are a lot of kids who wouldn’t have Christmas without Shop with a Cop. It’s a noble cause and we really appreciate any donation.”
