Jamie Brough/Lake Powell Chronicle
At around 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, emergency responders were called out for an elderly man who had collapsed at the Horseshoe Bend trail. The Page Fire Department reported that a bystander who had watched the man go down immediately administered CPR after determining that the victim had no pulse. The bystander performed CPR for approximately 15 to 20 minutes before medics arrived on scene. According to Page Fire Chief Jeff Reed, the man was still unresponsive as they transported him to the Page Hospital. An excessive heat warning remains in effect for Northern Arizona until at least June 23. No further details were available at the time this issue of the Chronicle went to press.
