Members of the Page Parks and Rec Advisory Board, Page City Council, varying members of city staff and government, The Chamber Page Lake Powell and no shortage of eager kids and community supporters took part in an official unveiling and ribbon cutting ceremony of the new playground equipment at Golliard Park late Monday afternoon. The mood was excited and airy as kids received a short respite from the recent heat wave as a dense cloud cover moved in. The new equipment, looking very modern and complete with a fall pad, was installed earlier in July and marks the most noticeable upgrade in a large-scale plan to renovate the entirety of the city’s aging parks infrastructure. Working closely with the parks and rec board, another $400,000 was officially budgeted by Page City Council this year to put towards the first steps in an overhaul of the John C. Memorial, or “City” Park.
