Page girls close regular season with impressive win

Steven Law/Lake Powell Chronicle Senior post player Monique Fuller finds the basket against the Scorpions on Saturday. Fuller finished the night with five points.
The Lady Sand Devils finished the regular season in impressive fashion with a big win against the 27-0 Red Rock Scorpions, who in earlier tournaments this year have defeated some 6A schools.

They hosted the Scorpions Saturday in their fourth of four games played last week. If the Sand Devils had tired legs, it didnít show.

Saturday was also Senior Day and because of that Head Coach Ryan Whitehorse started five of his seniors: Nailoni Beard, Natasha Henry, Ariel Austin, Monique Fuller and Kaitlin Benally.

Sedona came out playing an aggressive corner trap but the Sand Devils offense, led by Benally at point guard, deftly made their way through it.

Things moved slowly in the first quarter with Austin and Benally giving the Sand Devils the quarterís only points, but their defense held strong giving up only six points to the Scorpions.
