Support Allie's Angels tonight

For someone with cancer the battle against it is just part of the struggle. Besides the ongoing cancer treatments they also have to deal with the time and expense of traveling to the hospital for treatments, lodging expenses while they’re staying in the city where they have their treatments and lost income from missed work.

If you know a cancer family and have witnessed the challenges and struggles they go through, and wished there was something you could do to help, you’ll have a chance to do so at tonight’s Sand Devils football game. Tonight’s game is dedicated to Allie’s Angels, a non-profit group in Page that provides support for families who have a member battling cancer.

At tonight’s football game there will be a Miracle Minute after the first quarter during which Allie’s Angels will pass collection buckets through the bleachers and you can put money into the bucket. All the money collected will go to Allie’s Angels.

In addition, Page Lumber and the Page Dental Center will donate $200 to Allie’s Angels for every touchdown scored.

Also tonight, to show your support, wear orange or gold. Orange is the color for leukemia and gold is the color for childhood cancer.

Allie’s Angels was started by C.J. and Brittany Hansen two years ago after their daughter Allie, who was nine years old at the time, was diagnosed with leukemia.

The money their foundation raises is given to other families with children who are fighting cancer. Some of the money is used to bring joy to the child battling cancer, such as shopping trips, and some of the money is given to their parents to be used for travel and lodging expenses.

Kickoff for tonight’s football game, against Valley Christian, is at 7 p.m. Wear orange or gold and bring your wallets and help out a very good cause.
