PAGE – A 54-year-old Page man accused of sexual abuse is out of jail on bail, according to the Page Police Department.

Two victims, whose names, ages and gender were not disclosed, accused their father, Michael L. Long Sr., years of sexual abuse that occurred more than 15 years ago. Page Police then launched a probe into these claims.

After an extensive investigation, Long was indicted in June by a grand jury at the Coconino County Superior Court on charges of sexual assault, sexual conduct with a minor under the age of 15 and sexual conduct with a minor under the age of 18 – all of which are Class 2 felonies and have varying terms.

“An arrest warrant was issued and Long was arrested for the offenses by Page Police (officers),” Page Police Detective Terry TerEick said in a statement. “He is currently released on bail (and) awaiting trial.”

These offenses were reported to have occurred between 1995 and 2002 at multiple locations in Page and within Coconino County.

There is a total of 13 registered sex offenders living in Page, nine of which are Level 2 offenders who pose a moderate risk to re-offend in the community.
