The family and friends of Windy Jim regret to inform you that he passed away in his home on January 9th, 2018. James Douglas Harding was born to Elmer and D.M. Sue Harding on May 16, 1953, in Cleveland Ohio. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, Elmer and Sue Harding as well as his Uncle Gene and Aunt Jean Goehring of Ohio and was survived by his Daughter Courtney Harding (Page Arizona) and his Brother John Harding (Sterling Ohio).

Windy Jim was a High School Graduate, served in the Navy, was an avid outdoor hiker and photographer, and loved to sail his kites on a windy day. He was a jack of all trades who would help anywhere he could, has done many odd jobs, and was known as “The Handy Man” to most.

Later in life he found a way to share his passion and was a local tour guide. Jim loved to share the Lake Powell and surrounding areas, and felt most at home in the backcountry of Arizona and Utah. He was active with the local Antique Tractor Club and could be seen in all the parades atop an old tractor.

Windy Jim came to the Page area nearly 40 years ago and has since made numerous friends apparent by all that loved him, and his morning ritual of coffee with friends at the Ranch House Grille.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 3rd, 2018 at the Ranch House Grille in Page Arizona, starting at 4 PM. This celebration will be a potluck dinner, so if you are able please bring some finger foods to share, as well as a good story to tell.
