A construction crew out of Winslow, Ariz., began putting in a new sidewalk and curb on north Lake Powell Boulevard last week. The sidewalk, curb and drainage will extend from Clubhouse Drive and connect with the existing sidewalk at the top of the hill near Quality Inn.
The project is expected to be finished around Sept. 15, and possibly sooner, said Kyle Christiansen, public works director for the city of Page.
The work is being done by McCauley Contractors, that have two crews working on the project. One of the crews is installing conduit for future electrical needs along the sidewalk, while the second crew is laying the curb, sidewalk and drainage.
During the two months of construction the right lane of Lake Powell Blvd. (within the construction zone) will be closed to traffic as a safety precaution for workers.
